NEW YORK (CNN) -- Actress Sarah Jessica Parker has given birth to a boy, her first child with husband and fellow actor Matthew Broderick, Parker's publicist said Tuesday.
The baby arrived early Monday at New York's Lenox Hill Hospital, weighing six pounds, eight ounces, publicist Ina Treciokas said. No name has been chosen yet.
Parker, 37, and Broderick, 40, have been married for five years. Parker has an Emmy and three Golden Globes for her starring role in the hit HBO series "Sex and the City."
Parker, who plays advice columnist Carrie Bradshaw, is expected to head back to work in February.
Broderick, has starred in "The Producers" and "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" on Broadway and in the films "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and "War Games," among others. His next role will be the lead in a TV movie version of "The Music Man," set to air on ABC next season.
