I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO RODGER TAYLOR THE DRUMMER WITH DURAN DURAN. I HEARD RUMOURS THAT HE HAD A BREAK DOWN AND SIMON LE BON & JOHN TAYLOR WERE SO NASTY TO HIM THAT IS WHY ANDY TAYLOR LEFT, AND AS SIMON LE BON NICK RHODES AND JOHN TAYLOR WERE COMPLETLY TALENTLESS THE GROUP CRUMBLED.
IM NOT BITTER REALLY!!!

Linz, I see you're new so welcome to the board. I have a friend who is a Duranie of the highest order and I will see if I can get that information for you ASAP.

Okey-dokey, it's georgeschick here, and 'nette finally talked me into registering. I am the "Duranie of the first order" she referred to.
Here goes the scoop:
Roger Taylor left Duran Duran because of mental exhaustion. He couldn't take the crowds and the constant scrutiny.
Andy Taylor left to pursue a solo career. He felt like his talents were not being used to their fullest, and wanted to pursue other avenues. They both left after 1985.
John Taylor stayed with the band until 1997. He performed on their CD Medazzaland and left before the band toured in support of it. He had an increasing drug problem and had gone as far creatively with Duran Duran as he felt he could at the time.
Simon Le Bon and Nick Rhodes have never left, and with Warren Cuccurrullo have made one of the best Duran Duran works I have ever heard called Pop Trash. I wouldn't call them talentless by any stretch of the imagination, but to each his own, ey?
Andy has continued with several project since he left Duran. Roger has been a sheep farmer. John has done some EXCELLENT solo work, and has been in two bands called Neurotic Outsiders and Terroristen.
Warren has left Duran Duran and rejoined his old band, Missing Persons, and I must tell you that they kick MAJOR, MAJOR bootie. I saw them in San Diego and Los Angeles this summer.

..of course, this is all a moot question since they are ALL reunited and are making an album as we speak...

Thank you and come again...

Thanks George's Chick!
I thought Pop Trash was great too! I saw them here in January. Great concert!
I am looking forward to the "reunion tour"!
When I saw them in 1984, I was working for them and didn't really get to see the whole show! I was stuck backstage most of the time!

Thanks for the info Georgeschick! I'm glad you registered with us! You never know when we'll need a hardcore Duranie! Or should I refer to you as the Duranie of the first order? ;)

Shazz can be a little long-winded, but I love her so. :D

Shazzah is probably the most enthusiastic Simon LeBon fan ever!

Hello everyone, just a side note. We have been told out here in LaLa land that all the members are back together and touring. Last year I just missed Duran Duran at the House of Blues in Hollywood. I don't plan on missing them again. I have an inside source that's a D.J. at one of the top pop stations here in L.A. She lets me know when they're on tour and where they are. Anyway hope that helps anyone looking and wondering.

You just missed the Hollywood show, but Shazzah didn't. She was there in all her Glory. She saw the show in San Diego the day before also. She IS a supahfreak! ;)

I went to see Duran Duran in concert in December 2000. It was a great show!!! I was among the youngest people there though, the ages ranged from 10 to 100!
