Just wanted to see if there were any Falco fans out there as die hard as me. Yes outside the USA he continued on to make many albums right up to his unfortuntate death in 1998, however, id like to see if there are any fans to start up a discussion about the work of the great Hans Hozel. There was more to him than Der Kommissar and Rock Me Amadeus.

I believe we may have some Falco fans around here. I even recall him being mentioned in some other thread but i can't remember where :(
Der Kommisaar and Amadeus is about all I know:laugh: the 90s albums must have been euro released only, right?? (never even saw them over here :confused2 )

Everything Falco did after the 1988 "Wiener Bult" LP wasn't released over in the USA (cause the LP was a total unknown flop over here), only in euro areas like you said. In the 90's Falco did everything from hip hop, pop, club and grunge rock. He was a great artist.

Yes, Falco was a genius. I didn't know much about him other than Rock Me Amadeus, Der Kommissar, and Vienna Calling. I started collecting alot of his other material and found several good tracks.
There were some interesting remixes of Vienna Calling released in '92, and remixes of Der Kommissar a few years ago.

I loved Falco, but only knew his stuff up until his album Falco 5. I think it was 5. I owned that tape years ago, but no longer have it. He was truly an original artist.

Idiot question:
Was Falco's Der Kommissar the same as the Clash's Der Kommissar?
I don't think it's an idiot question. I wouldn't mind knowing the answer too. :)

Well..yes Falco's "Der Kommissar" is the same as After The Fire's "Der Kommissar" accept sung in German and its a dance track. Was popular first in the underground club scene in early 82 as an import track then the 1 hit rock band After The Fire did an English rock version..which was their one hit lol (although the ATF LP is damn great!). The Clash never did that track.

Falco's 'Der Kommissar' was a BIG hit here in Canada in 1982 and still what I believe to be his best song. I don't remember the ATF version being a chart hit here in Canada, but because Canada gets alot of it's music from American media, the ATF version was well known here as well :)

I'm not a big Falco fan, but I do like his remake of "Do It Again".
