As many of you may know George Michael & Andrew Ridgley were probably the biggest pop group to come out of Europe in the 80s.

I know Careless Whisper made it too number 1 in the US, but over here they had at least 10 top ten hits during their five years of being together.

How popular did Wham actually become in the US?

We thought they were soooooooo cool! I had the "Choose Life" shirt. MTV had a special on retiring videos "Never to be seen again" & Go-go was one of them. They retired the most overplayed videos of all times. All of the Wham videos were played & played when they 1st came out. George Michael turned out to be such a hottie when he went solo!

I think Wham spread throught the US in the early 80s I believe. George was the man, I guess. Careless Whisper, and Wake Me Up were tunes often heard on radios during that time. Wham was perceived pretty positively in the US Pop Culture.

George Micheal has a great voice. Why is he not recording anymore?? Who cares about the bathroom incident in Beverly Hills. The guy can sing!!!

I'm sure G. Michael is gonna release new stuff sooner or later. You just can't hold down a good songwriter.

Despite his sexual orientation, the dude can sing really good. So can Elton John. At least the are open about it not like alot of indivuals in society. Much respect for that

*ROCK CRITICS IN ENGLAND SAY THAT GEORGE MICHAEL'S NEW CD IS THE BEST WORK HE'S DONE SINCE "FAITH" AND COULD BE HIS TICKET BACK TO THE TOP -- UNFORTUNATELY, THEY SAID THAT ABOUT HIS LAST RECORD TOO (WHICH ENDED UP GOING NOWHERE) -- THE HEAD OF MARKETING FOR BRITAIN'S #1 CHAIN OF RECORD STORES SAYS "THE TRACKS ARE CLASSIC GEORGE MICHAEL AND A REAL RETURN TO FORM. I'M CONFIDENT THIS IS GOING TO BE ONE OF THE BIGGEST ALBUMS OF THE YEAR"

-- HE'S A HOMEGROWN TALENT, SO THEY'RE PULLING FOR HIM -- HERE IN AMERICA, HE PULLS IT FOR HIMSELF -- HIS CAREER HAS NEVER OVERCOME THAT INCIDENT IN A PUBLIC RESTROOM IN BEVERLY HILLS...

They were huge! I have to agree with you that GM is very talented. Even thought I was more into metal back then, I still appreciated Wham's talent. Just seemed like they had hit after hit and unstoppable on the charts. I kind of wonder why he's not recording much anymore too. Might be the bad publicity thing, who knows? I still enjoy hearing them on the radio... Guess it's a nastalgia thing. Makes me feel I'm back in the days of... Nevermind. :)
