View Full Version : Hello 80's World
Hello everyone.
I'm Rafael Cintron (Rafa) from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
I was born in 1969, so yep, you guessed it: I'm an 80's child.
I hope to learn a lot from you about that fascinating decade, and maybe I could be of some help to you too!
See ya.

Hey Rafa,
It was actually partially becasue of your post that I decided to sign up.
Back in 1986, I had a roommate in school from the Dominican Republic and he said there was a Dominican musician that made it onto the American/Canadian charts. I don't remember his name but I believe the song was called "Boom, Boom."
What I remember of the song goes like this:
"Boom, Boom, Boom,
let's go back to my room
where we can do it all night
and I can make you feel right. . ."
I have tried numerous times to do a Kazaa search but I keep getting the Venga Boys.
Do you or anyone else happen to know the name of the song or artist?
Cheers,
Preppie

Happy Belated Welcome, Rafa!
Forgot to tell you that my uncle's nickname (created by his grandchild) is Rafa. Maybe he just couldn't pronounce Grandpa and Rafa came out? I dunno but I thought I would bring it up in case I get confused and call you uncle or Grandpa. lol! :p
Hi Preppie.
The song is Boom Boom by Paul Lekakis. It was a Huuuuuuuuuge hit in the Dominican Republic, but Lekakis is not dominican. I guess your friend confused him with kaki vargas, who was, at that time, a famous merengue artist. I have "Boom Boom" in my mp3s collection; the lyrics are:
Hey baby I'd like to talk to you
How about coming back to my room for a little boom boom
You keep coming to me
I can dig your dynamite
Know the way you move
Get in the groove
You're driving me crazy, crazy for you
Second time you moved me
It's time for us to Boom Boom
You can come right close to me
And feel the burning fire
All the time you got me
It's fine for us to boom boom
If you see the spark in me
And feel my strong desire
Boom Boom Boom
Let's go back to my room
So we can do it all night
And you can make me feel right
Boom Boom Boom
Let's go back to my room
So we can do it all night
And you can make me feel right
Do the honor to me
Don't you know I like to bite
Get to the view
Closer to you
You're driving me crazy, crazy for you
Second time you moved me
It's time for us to Boom Boom
You can come right close to me
And feel the burning fire
All the time you got me
It's fine for us to boom boom
If you see the spark in me
And feel my strong desire
Boom Boom Boom
Let's go back to my room
So we can do it all night
And you can make me feel right
Boom Boom Boom
Let's go back to my room
So we can do it all night
And you can make me feel right
