5 Girls and that guy

The show was about an older man who had two daughters (he might have had a wife) He had white-ish gray-ish hair, he was a cartoonist. There was a delivery boy who would come over and visit all the time. One of the daughters had blonde hair and the other was a brunette. That is all the information my roomates gove me but if ANYONE has a clue about what I am talking about please respond soon!!! Thanks :)
p.s. The father always wore a blue sweater w/a collared shirt underneath? ;)

It almost sounded like Empty Nest except that father was a dentist. Has me baffled.
The show was called Too Close For Comfort.

Now how about that spin-off of Growing Pains, "Just the Ten of Us". Egad the 80's had bad television.
Okay, but I watched it anyway.
I have to say the 90's has some bad television too. Especially all of those reality TV shows that you're in love with, Adam. Ha!
Can't get enough of those reality shows - You are right about that. Survivor, Temptation Island, The Mole, etc...
I don't really remember the spin off from Growing Pains though. I was a pretty big fan of the show too. I guess it must have been pretty bad that I didn't even hear about it.
BTW, I saw Alan Thicke in a play last year. It was called Chicago. Did you happen to see it? Pretty good play - a little provocative for him, I thought. But I enjoy that kind of stuff anyway. I wonder what Kirk Cameron (aka Michael Seaver) is doing now? I heard he was married, but I didn't hear about any projects he might be working on. Maybe he's just living off of the Growing Pains money he made back then??? Don't think he's been holding up dry cleaning places in South LA. :)

Ooo, the Kimberly Drummund/Dana Plato syndrome. Did you hear that she died, I think it was last year? OD'd. Sad stuff.
Just the 10 of Us was about Kirk Cameron's coach moving to California with his 8 kids and he was teaching at an all boys catholic school but his 4 teenage daughters were enrolled there. Many hijinks ensued, let me tell you.
I just saw Chicago (the musical) on Sunday. Bebe Neuwirth (known to most people as Lilith on Cheers) played Velma Kelly, she was amazing. Really great dancer & singer with an amazing stage presence. Sexy woman, I'd do her! Is that the show you saw? Did Alan Thicke play Amos, Roxie's husband? Or are we talking about different things?
Just looked up Kirk Cameron on IMDB and they said he was in Growing Pains: The Movie in 2000 (TV movie). It sounds absolutely terrible, doesn't it? I never heard anything about it, did you? Of course, the fact that I don't have a TV may have something to do with it!

The that Dana Plato story was pretty sad. I felt so bad for her. The last time I saw her was in an interview and she had said she was on the road to recovery. She must have been in denial for sure.
Yes, we are talking about the same play -- Chicago. I didn't recognize Bebe Neuwirth though. I'm sure if I saw the play again, I'd recognize her since you mentioned who she played on tv. That was a really great play. Yes, Alan Thicke played Amos.
So when are you getting a new tv? :)
Kirk Cameron was also in the direct-to-video mini-series "Left Behind", based on the popular apocalyptic rapture novels, along with his wife, Chelsea Noble. I imagine he's living quite nicely on "Growing Pain" residuals...
Must be nice to be able to live off money you made 15-20 years ago. Growing Pains is probably still on tv somewhere. heheheh... Can you say ca-ching! :D
How very true, Adam. That's why I say, if you are on a hit television show DO NOT LEAVE until the show is cancelled. Take Julianne Margulies who left ER. The producers offered her a $25 million dollar contract for three more seasons and she turned it down. Now, I ask you, what else is she going to do over the next three years that is going to earn her $25 million???

Money isn't everything. You need to be doing things that you love. Maybe she wanted to leave before she started hating it.
You are probably right, Witchstone. It's just that I can't imagine saying No to $25 million, unless it was something that wsent against my morals... :)

Did any of you like Family Ties? I just adored Michael J. Fox's character Alex P. Keaton. The interactions between him and his little brother were so cute.

I saw Chicago in Chicago in 1997 starring Jasmine Guy (Whitney in A Different World) I was in the nosebleed seats (got my ticket at the last minute) but the show was great!!!

I remember watching Family Ties, Growing Pains and the spin off Just The 10 of Us. I adored Kirk. He was so damn cute. He married that chick that played his GF in the last yrs of the show. They have done a few TV movies together, but nothing big. He also stars in that Christain film "Left Behind." Havnt had a chance to see it yet, but heard that the acting wasnt "all that."
