I get SO angry when I read books about the eighties, and eighties music in particular, and they don't even MENTION my five favorite men. Puhleeze. I tell Jen that if it doesn't mention my boyfriend, Simon Le Bon, it's automatically poop..no questions asked.
I knew Jen got her books yesterday, so I rush in this morning and ask to see the music one so I could determine if it was good or if it was, well.... poop. Imagine my delight and surprise when the VERY FIRST QUESTION IN THE BOOK was, "What 80's supergroup was called the Fab Five?" Michael, you have got it GOING ON!!!!
You are DEFINITELY NOT poop!!!!!

luvandsmooches to you.....
Shazza :D

Glad you found Michael's book to be to your liking Shazza! I must admit that I used to hate DD when I was growing up, but later I have grown to enjoy their music very much. I even went to a DD concert last year. How my childhood friends would love to let me have it if they ever knew. :D

Hi there!
I thought I would ask the reigning Duran Duran expert a question...
I was driving home last night listening to my "Duran Duran Greatest Hits CD", and the song, "Electric Barbarella" came on.
For the life of me, I can't remember a video for that song. Was there a video for it?
(And I'll have you know that I have a convertible, so being 38 years old driving down the highway at 55mph playing Duran Duran may look scary!)

Yep, there was a video. It was the one with the life-sized robot maid that kept going berzerk when her batteries ran out.
Electric Barbarella trivia you didn't ask for:
The model who played the robot in that video was only 16 years old. Her butt was hanging out, she was kissing all over MY boyfriend Simon, and was doing EXTREMELY lewd things with a curling iron. Her mother should have her head examined.
A very famous plus-sized model was in that video, and I give them all kinds of props for that.
My boyfriend was major yummy in that burgundy suit.... :)

Oh, and I think I need to assure Michael that I really WAS kidding about marriage. NO, I wasn't...Yes, I was...No, I wasn't...
:D

I remember the video for "Electric Barbarella", too, Shazza. I have to say it wasn't their best video effort, in my opinion. I remember the mannequin-like woman being carted around by the band members, and lots of references to Internet porn. It wasn't a visual masterpiece like "Hungry Like a Wolf" or "Say a Prayer", but it was entertaining, nonetheless...

BTW, I'm still blushing from your "proposal", kidding or not!!!

I'm GOOD at making men blush. Ask the pharmacist at the karaoke bar...

The pharmacist at the Karaoke bar???

Oh Mrs. LeBon, I will have some "never seen" pictures of your boyfriend and friends in a few days.
Long story short: I worked for Duran Duran in 1984, took some pictures of them in concert, my dads house burned down in 1989, thought the photos were gone forever, but my dad "found" some of the negatives in a box he never went through! So, I dropped them off to be re-printed, along with some of The Romantics and AdamAnt.
I'll let you know when I have them and I'll email them to ya!
