Okay, I've been wondering about this for a while, but what are some of your musical influences? Alsat or who got you into the music you like now?
Well, I have a lot of musical influences, but the ones that really influenced me are:
Kate Bush
Talk Talk
The Beatles
Pink Floyd
Olivia Newton-John
ABBA
XTC
Adam Ant
Siouxsie and the Banshees
The Who
The Clash
Thomas Dolby
And my family got me into the music I listen to. My parents got me into The Beatles, The Who and Celtic music. My sister got me into New Wave music and my brother got me into some heavy metal.

Later when I stared to buy my own LP's it was almost synth. On my school you were either a hardrocker or a synther (If you could say that in english). I had already choosen.
* Depeche Mode

* Eurithics
* Jean Michael Jarre
* Ultrawox

I forgot about Yaz(00) and Ultravox. Midge Ure is a very underrated musician.

There was always music playing in my house. When I was younger I loved of course what my parents listen too. Little Richard, Elvis, Bill Haley all the 50's and 60's stuff. As I got older and we went family parties and such I heard the Disco Duck, Brown girl in the Rain and Do the Hustle. I remember the first songs I heard when I got into my own music-Dont you want me by Human League and I love Rock n' Roll by Joan Jett then Michal Jackson and Corey Hart and the ultimate Bon Jovi. When I saw the move Lost Boys I discover The Doors and really was obessessed with them for 4 years and dallied in all the hair metal and pop music but was consumed by the Doors and The Sex Pistols. I started to get into country later cause I started to go to Karoke bars. Then I met my ex and got into Pink Floyd and Leonard Cohen and a lot of 70's stuff. The only music that I have never really enjoyed is rap or hip hop. I still listen to all of the above (even disco) But now I do like the metal/hip hop bands like Linkin Park, and Papa Roach. But mostly of course it's all 80's or metal.
I think the one thing music has influenced me is to be my own person and enjoy what I like no matter what.(and of course to pin up hot babes on my wall)!

I got into music from my older sister's boyfriend. He made an awesome new wave mix for her (which i stole, being the bad little sister i was). It had The Smiths, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Midge Ure, & Siouxsie to name a few. I was about 11 or 12 at the time. I bought a ton of cure, dm, smiths, and siouxsie stuff from that point on. Also, a year or so later, I discovered a few college radio shows that got me into industrial/goth and punk. I never knew where to get any of the bands I heard until I was older and found out about underground record shops and other ppl who were into the same thing.

I listened to a lot of different pop bands when I was a kid, especially Queen, but the most important thing for me (musically) was when I saw the video for "Poison" and fell madly in love with Alice Cooper <img src="graemlins/laugh.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh]" /> He was the one who got me interested in Hard Rock/Metal. But I do listen to Pop too, I just don't like the stuff they do today. But I like Queen, Culture Club, Depeche Mode etc. A big problem for me is that I didn't know that much English in the 80's, and I never got the names of the cool songs or bands I liked back then, except for a few, which makes it very hard for me to find those songs today.

When I was little I adored the Beatles.
When I was about 10 my family listened to Wings, Linda Rondstadt, Styx, Elton John, Queen, Little River Band, Journey, Pure Prairie League, etc.
When I was 13 my favorite band was AC/DC partly because my parents hated 'em.
When I was 14 and I discovered MTV my favorite band was Loverboy and then Duran Duran. It has been Duran Duran ever since. I love both new wave and heavy metal music, the occasional rap song (Beastie Boys crack me up), very little country, western, or classical. I've been known to listen to Phantom of the Opera or the soundtrack from Last of the Mohicans.
